Jay has been invited to perform in Durham by Durham University English Society.

The performance, on the 12th of December, will be his final performance of 2016, as just days afterwards he will be travelling to Germany to spend Christmas with friends.

The performance will take place at the Empty Shop, Durham, and will be the finale of a poetry open mic evening. Doors open at 7:30PM and the venue boasts cabaret seating and a bar.

Tickets to this evening are only £5.00, and, as it is run by the Durham University English Society, DUES members can get tickets for only £2.50. Tickets are now available to purchase online HERE and will also be available to purchase on the door.

The evening is loosely themed around politics, literature, and gender identity however everyone is welcome to contribute to the open mic if they would like and Anyone can apply to perform regardless of their experience or interests by emailing: English.society@durham.ac.uk or by signing up on the night itself, if there are open mic spots remaining.

After the performance Jay will be selling copies of both of his collections, "The Prospect Of Wings" (2015) and "City Boys Should Not Feed Horses" (2016), and both will be discounted by £2 from their retail prices if purchased on the night.

This is an incredible opportunity for aspiring poets to perform their work in a relaxed atmosphere, and even get some advice from an experienced, award-winning poet.
